  2. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – 35 hours of CPD must have been completed in the previous 3 years of registration. 20 hours of this must be participatory, meaning by attending face to face learning sessions. The remaining hours can be obtained through other mediums such as e-learning courses or other types of learning, education or study.
  3. Practice Related Feedback – Nurses must demonstrate and keep record of at least 5 practice related feedback interactions since they last renewed their registration or since they have been on the register.
  4. Written Reflective Accounts – At least 5 reflective written accounts and how they relate to the code of conduct, written on the approved form as given by the NMC should be evidenced. Reflection must relate to your CPD and/or a piece of practice related feedback and/or an event or experience in your professional practice.
  5. Health and Character – Nurses must provide a health and character declaration. This will include a statement as to whether you have been convicted of a criminal offence or formally cautioned. No evidence is required to declare your fitness of health and character but it is your sole responsibility to ensure you have accurately and truthfully recorded these details.
  6. Professional Indemnity – You must declare that you have the appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place when you are at work or will have when you intend to work.
  7. Confirmation – A registrant who is also on the NMC register must confirm your submission. They will be required to give details of their name, NMC PIN, email, professional address and postcode as the final requirement of your revalidation application.
