Junior Full Stack Software Developer (PHP/Java, Javascript) – Old Street London

We are a digital marketplace for hospital employee placement, including shiftwork and permanent jobs. We optimise processes for hiring and management in hospitals, using game theory economics to maximise the potential of the healthcare hiring marketplace.

We’re looking for Full Stack Software Developers to work on our existing consumer application.

This role would suit someone who is keen on working as part of a dynamic start-up environment and has a practical, self-motivated approach to their work.

 Requirements

Our expectations are for you to:

  • Develop and maintain web portals written in Vue.js and associated PHP and/or Java services and infrastructure.
  • Work in best practice methodologies of software development (Design Patterns, SOLID principles).
  • Strong understanding and application of TDD
  • Implement and maintain best practices in version control (GIT) and continuous integration.
  • Work in an agile (SCRUM/Kanban) environment with tasks managed in JIRA.
  • Propose and evaluate new technologies and processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

ABOUT YOU

If you answer yes to most of the following then we’d love to hear from you:

  • Relevant experience of JavaScript or PHP.
  • Working commercial knowledge of HTML5 and CSS.
  • Highly driven self-starter and keen problem solver with an eye for attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse at a technical and business level.
  • Equally comfortable working in a team or independently.

Any experience of the following would be desirable

  • js, PHP Frameworks (Symfony, Laravel), Drupal
  • SQL, NoSQL, GraphDB, GraphQL, Websockets
  • TypeScript, ES6, NativeScript
  • Android, iOS development, React, Ionic
  • AWS Cloud technologies (S3, Lambda, etc.)
  • Accelerated Mobile Pages, Progressive Web Apps
  • Docker and Kubernetes
